The blog is there to help poor lost souls in Berlin find the right restaurant for the right occasion. However, it needs a system. There are many restaurants in Berlin, mostly somewhere between mediocre and nice (which is usually the endearing word for mediocre). The following icons will help you break down the my endless ranting into one bottom line:

| (two prints): Not really worth the bother, but you'll survive without too many traumatising memories. |

| (four prints): Go there. Good quality, good value. An address to be remembered. |

| (five prints): Go there. I don't care if you're ill or if you don't even have enough money for the U-Bahn ticket there. You won't regret it. |

Berliner Spezials – unlike normal posts – are comparative studies about one of the Berlin’s culinary symbols. For a whole week (5 days – Monday through Friday) I will feed off a certain Berliner dish daily. At the end of this week I will then publish the week’s rankings. Sounds simple? We’ll see about that!
